They can supply your needs from the cradle to the grave, s * * s Attempt at linrghiry. 7 Last Sunday night an attempt was made by souv: thief to enter the store of 1 Lames & Lipscomb, which came very near proving successful. The iron bars had been cut from the bottom of one - of the front windows, and the bars bent !- back and two panes vof glass removed $ making a hole large enough for a man !. to enter. It happened that Mr. Lips. comb was pissing by the store, and discovered the wi rk of the buiglais. lie must have come near catching the fellow at work, as an entrance had not been effected, Mr. Lipscomb, we think, . matte a mistake, when he at once set I about remedying the break. Had he y passed on as if he had not discovered it, y and immediately summoned the police, i they could, no doubt, have caught the thief in the trap he had made. Safe Crackers at Pacolet. [. It ha3 been rainy cloudy weather > the past week, Cottou is about pick* ed in this soction, and it has been sold as fast as picked out. It seems that no one is holdiiig for better prices. Wheat sowing will soon take place, and I thiuk thero will be a great deal ' sown, I am glad to say. The price of ' cotton has not crazed the people in this section, as they are fixing to sow small grain, and some will not plant any more than they usually do. Go ahead, brother farmers, make hog and hominy at home, aud low priced cotton will not hurt you. A goodly number of people, from this place, attended the Carnival last week. All report a good time Mr. Rufus White, who has beep working in Spartanburg, has returned home for awhile. Mr. Willie Gault has completed a new ell to his house. The new depot has been finished at this place. It is a nice oue, sure, and makes a great addition to this place. These signs seem to speak for something else.
