KILLING NEAR CARLISLE.

A double tragedy occurred \Vednesday
near Carlisle. The parlies involved weie

Hotel Monarch.
Mr. Sullivan, the bookkeeper at
Monarch and others, have opined up an
eating house over at the Monarch Mill,
and they are now pat ionizing their own

Shooting Scrape.
A shooting scrape occured near
Cross Keys on Mr. Isaac Murph's
pla e, about sun up Monday morning
between John Gist and Austin Domok,
both colored. John shot Austin twice,
one of the balls entering the left side

the lips. Austin Djrrough lives on
Mr. C. B. Bobo's place, and John Gist
lives on M?\ Hiram Murphy's place.
We could not get the particulars,
but it seems that Austin had had some
kind of difficulty with John's children,

had gone to see Austin about it. lie
found him in the field, and the dilli
