In addition to this a c guard has been placed on every road leading from the town, and no one is ai- ^ lowed to leave the town without a cei- (. tilicate of vaccination, a physician and guard are also stationed at the depot, and noone allowed to board an out-going II ) train without a certificate or submitt ng f to vaccination. This is a laudable uc" tion of the Board of Health, and removes C c the danger of the disease being carried to f some other town from Union. They i lmvfl secured a lot of 4 } acres of land e from Mrs. John Eison, 2 miles from fl 1 town where a quarantine station or pest house will be built. There have been 11 cases quarantined at the 1'iuitt house in the country so far, some of whom Iruvc r recovered and be.n allowed to leave. . wmi? some new cases nave been re|K>rted in the last few days, we believe that, by fc prompt action in establishing an effective i quarantine of the premises, the disease ( . cau easily be kept under con'rol. The 0 citizens of the town should stand ready r to lend the Hoard of Health every assistance, and promptly report any sui' jtected case, so that an idvestigation can bo made without delay. Mr. Clifton, the small pox patient on liurch street, who broke out last week, also developing a bad case, but the octor does not anticipate as bad a case i that ol' Mr. Workman, as the symp>ms of the trouble in the throat are not id. There is not a soul on the premises ccept Mr. Clifton and his faithful wife, o one is allowed to go or come except ic attending physician.
