smallpox, which is giving much troublo
in the sooth, is proving fatal at Cautou
and Clyde, two small towns near hero.
It was taken tiiero by a tramp named
Doc Moaso, who died. In Canton stores
are closed nud no business is being
transacted. An engineer of a Southern
railway traiu was lio.d up there to be
forcibly vaccinated. Ho resisted and in
the light that ensued broke the arm of
the officer. Several deaths have occurred
in each of theso towns.
