The Southern has supplied Union with
a long felt need by putting a shifting
engine at this point, llailroad men have
long considered Union one of the touah
cat places to get a train away from on
the road. Trains have frequently been
kept here shift iog for six eight hours. 1
Work is progressing rapidly on the *
eastern end of the Lockhart railroad.
The contractors have established three
camps two or three miles apart and are
working between them. They have six
or eight miles grading going on. Thry
want to tinish by about the tlrst of November.
Have you noticed the pretty parlor
window at Bailey's furniture store? It
is a daisy and has q uite a homelike appearance.
But that isn't half the sight ^
you can see. If you have a leisure hour
drop in and have Mr. It. L. McNallv to
show you over this mammoth establishment.
It will take about that time to
take in the whole thing.

and lived only a short while. We extend
our sympathy to Mr. Massabeau in
his bereavement.
