May he live long and prosper.
Am ?ng the latest arrivals in town is a
young lady at the home of Mr. A.. W.
Greene. The young lady has come to
stay some sixteen or eighteen years. We
have not learned her given name but her
surname is Greene Wo are glad to
report that mother and child are doing
well.
No Sunday Mail.
One thing is badly missed by the buiiness
men from various parts of the
country who are stopping at Glenn
Springs. That is the Sunday mails. No
mail arrives sit Glenn Springs on Sunday
and no papers are to be had except occasionally
a bay brings them and sells
them at 10c each. Those who are accustomed
to reading their piper (on Sunday
are somewhat at a loss by being deprived
of them.
A Wreck.
No. Gl, the northbound freight train
derailed live empty freight cars just
tins side of Jonesville Saturday last,
smashing some of them up pretty
badly. No ono was hurt. Ono car
fell in the public road. An engineer
said several people wanted to know
how long they were going to "keep
the crossing blocked." The wrecking
crow succeeded in getting the wreck
cleared up-by night. The up passenger
train was delayed three or four
hours by the wreck.
.4 Nuisance.
There are a number of colored
women in this town who should be
given just twenty-four hours to get
! out of town. Thoir conduct is such
that they are a disgrace to any com
j inanity. More harsh measures than
j simply putting them in jail should b(
used. Some of them are perfect!)
^ willing to go to jail. All that is
, necessary is to tell them they have t(
i go to jail and they go and report a1
R the jail, saying the policeman sai(
5 they had to go. They should he mad<
