Mrs. Annie Abbot, one of the latter day wonders of the world, exhibited her jK>wers on Monday and Tuesday nights last to large and appreciative audiences at Nicholson's hall. She appears to be a very lady-like woman, indeed, and catches her audience by her simple and becoming manner. She does not claim to understand her own power, but does claim that no one else understands or can explain it. We honestly confess that we ure out of it, but in our humble judgment she seems to be a person unduly charged with electricity, and also possessing the powers of the hypnotist. borne of her feats are marvelous; four men like Dr. Going, Dr. Lawsuit, Mr. Uurkett, and L. 1\ Murphy could not hold her up in mid-air when she desires to eomc down; they could not hold a ^liair steady in mid-air, hut staggered about like drunk men. Hie was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. .lonathan I'M wards, lie her gentle, modest and sweet deportment >|ie had won hosts ot friends inee coming to live among us. She was beautiful and faithful in all the relationships of life. An a fleet innate daughter, a devoted wife and mother; as a neighbor, ever ready to lend a helping hand in every way that she could to those around her. Her devoted and faitful attention in her invalid mother-in-law. who preceded her to the better land only a few short weeks, was an example we have never seen surpassed. Kartli has one sw eet spirit less and heaven one more. '1 he patience and resignation with which she bore her suffering during her last illness was beautiful to see. She was an earnest Christian and a member of the lhipiist church. She leaves a fund husband and five little children to mourn her lo-s.
