The evening was to a great extent taken up with conversation, 1 n t e r s p e r se<! with a few selections ol music. After the evening had well advanced one ol the recitation rooms was thrown open disclosing a tree decorated with a number of bright colored ; tissue paper bags, and the die-1 tribution of contents ol samel bags afforded great amuse-1 ment for every article in thei.i had been selected with that intent.
