each building insured? These are
| questions that each one of the insured
has a right to know.
I can say for the insured of Draytonville
Township that they have entered
in good faith. That they aro
insured for not more tljan two thirds
the real value of their property.
That they are ever ready to abide
by the laws of the Association and
bear their part of every legimate loss.
But they do assert they have a
right to know in what Township the
loss may arise, who is the Township
Director and tho real value of the
property destroyed.

Having
discharged the duties devolved upon
us by Your Honor for this (October)
term of Court for Union County,.
We the Grand Jury of said oohnty
desire to make through our Foreman
the following presentment and recommendations.
Jail.
Weoxamined the Jail and And
that nothing has been done in the
way of repairs reoomnrended' at last
term of Court. The walls need nr)U c
washing. The floora noed cleaning
and windows neod repairing. No
fence ha9 been placod around thejail
as recommended. We ask Your
Honor to have the reasons stated hy
the County Supervisor why these
recommendations have not J^en carried
out. '

We examined poor-house by committee.

TTe have examined tbis office and
find school fixtures. such as maps,
charts, globos on band, and rccoin
mended at last term of court to be
investigated by the Commissioner
and report to the Grand Jury at this
term ot court. Said Commissioner
being unable to show any light on
the matter. We recommend that
be be ordered to call a meeting of
township trustees and dispose of the
samo to the best advantage.

We have examined some of the
books or those offices and find thorn
so far as we can see well kept.

This officer has filed his report and
will find according to same to he well
managed.
As to the sheriff's. Clerk's, Auditors
Master's and Probate officos we ex.
amincd heretofore. We find them
well managed and properly kept.

Our attention has been called to
this place. We find the Dispensary
selling spirituous liquors upon orders.
We recommend that the gui'ty parties
he prosocutcd.

point of curious spectators. No sensation
was sprung, there wore no
mariff cases, and most of the time
wil Occupied with larceny cases, asmolt
and battery, and violation of
the ltauor laws. The cases against I
the Riy brothers und Cannon Page
for Moault on constable Newbold and
aleo for violation of the dispensary
law wereoontinuod on account of the
sickness of Mr. Jno. Hay, ono of the
defendants. Assistant Attorney
General Townsond was on hand to
assist ibe Solicitor in the assault case.
He staid here soveral days. Cases I{

Of these convicted, six go on the
chain gang to serve sentences rang
ing from one to eighteen months and
amounting in the aggregate to sixtyone
months. Mess. Jus. Vinson and
W. 1). Harris paid their fines. Dave
Uorndon t >ok an appeal.

took recess until Monday, when tinCourt
of Common Pleas convened I
There was no court therefore Friday
evening and Saturday und the lawyers
had time to get themselves in
