tobacco sales were unusually large,
lively uud satisfactory. Thirty wagons
from otlier counties and iarge local
contributions made the sales run up u

There being notliiug further the
Convention adjourned for tho day, after
severul of the members had mtiodueed
resolutions, which wore read
by their titles and leferred io their appropriate
committ-.es.
The third day's session of the convention
occupied only about two
Lours. Col. Robert Aldrich offered
the draft of a new State Constitution,
wliieh he asked should bo printed and
laid on the desks of the members, and
that the provisions bo referred to the
proper committees.
The convention refused to have it
printed, ninety members voting in tbe
affirmative. Col. Aldrich then moved
that the whole paper be referred to
the committee on judicial department
with instructions to send the different
provisos to the proper committees,
this was agreed to.
The following was then introduced
by Mr. Dudley and was referred to the
proper committee:
" 1'hat divorce from the boud of matrimony
is prohibited."
