Death of Wlfmot Kchrimw, i Mr. Wllmot deSaussure Kershaw, son of the Rev. John Kershaw, D. D., rector of St. Miehael's Church died at North Augusta last night. Mr. Kershaw had been in lit health for Some monhs. He was formerly em? ployed in the operation department of the Alantic Coast Line railroad com? pany. Mr. Kershaw was 3& years old, and recently went to North Augusta from Charleston. The funeral ser? vices and interment will be held at Camden tomorrow. He is survived by a widow and children.?News and Courier. ' Woodmen Unveil Monument. Sunday afternoon at Bethel church, Privateer, Holly Wood Camp No. 10, Woodmen of the World, unveiled a monument to the memory of H\ B. Bradford, a late member of the camp. The memorial address was delivered by Mr. C. M. Hurst and a large crowd from Sumter and the surrounding country was present at the exercises. I? tho Poke* Court. ACCIDENT ON LIBERTY STREET. Stripped Ford Car Wrecked and Gentleman Injured. Sometine this morning a stripped Ford car driven by Mr. W. J. Stafford, who lives between Sumter and Wedgefield, was badly damaged when it struck or was struck by a train on the Northwestern Railroad at the Liberty street crossing. Mr. Robert Turner, who was in the car, received a bad cut on his head, but was able to conttnue about his business, after he had received surgical attention at the hospital. The reports heard concerning the accident is that the car was approach? ing the crossing and ran Into the the rear coach of the tarin, Mr. Stafford being unable to stop the car for some reason before It struck. Mr. Stafford, when called up over the telephone declined to discuss the accident. At the regular meeting of the Chamber of Commerce directors this week the booster trip plan was most heartily and unanimously endorsed. Several other very important matters were brought up and discussed, which will no doubt prove of much benefit to the public in the future. - Candidate's Cards.
