thousand troops engaged, a desperate
tattle is raging today between Hobels
and Federals ;it Mughula, State of San
Luis Potosi. It is estimated that six |
hundred have already been killed in ,

In Japan's Disaster.

account of the voleunic catastrophe in
Japan today was made public by the
Japanese embassy here in the form of
the following cablegram from Tokio:
"The volcanic eruption took place
on Sakura-Jima, an island oft the city |
I of Kagoshlrna, on the 12th, and of

destroyed. The inhabitants took ref?

unascortainable yet but supposed not
to be great; one report puts it at
200. Volcanic action still continues,
but rumbling has ceased.
