INJURED LADY IMPROVING.
Miss Bent Hurt in Runaway Friday
Nearly Recovered from Injurie ?-.
Miss Bent, the young lady who was
njured Friday afternoon on Norih
Main atreet when her horse became
frightened, was reported Tuesday
to be getting on nicely. It wa sst*t
ed that she had nearly recaverd
from the Injuries received, which I r
a time, it was thought, might be
rlous.
Miss Bent and her sister, Mrs. .vlu'

Street when their horse became
frightened and commenced kicking.
Miss Bent tried to jump out of the
buggy pna feii between the wheels,
one of whic h passed over her neck
and shoulders. She was taken into
the Bultman residence, where she was
treated afterwards being taken on
home. Mrs. Muldrow had one arm
badly bruised, but otherwise received
no painful injuries.
The horse, after kicking loose from
the buggy, ran on down Main -street
to the corner of Hampton avenue,
where he fell on the brick pavement
and was caught before he could get
up and make off.

The boy i outs are taking gr^at in
terest in their weekly hike- through
tlie country to various places and are
deriving much pleasure and profit
from these trips. Nature study coaeei

encouraged by the scout master and
patrol leaders. The hike Saturday to
Cane Savannah was the longest which
has betn taken, but the boys stood the
trip well and spent a very pleasant
day at that place. The boy- found
this the best place visited so far, the
bathing facilities being exceptionally
good and the fishing being also ex?
cellent. Plenty of dinner was taken
along and was much enjoyed by the
hungry boys after their eight milo
hike.
Another feature of the educational
department work of the Y. M. C. A.
is the Frist Aid lecture class which
has been formed. The boys are
learning something from this study
which will prove of great benefit at
all times, especially on their hikes.
In the gymnasium classes the boys
are by no means idle. The classes
are large ones and are doing good
work in their semi-weekly practices.
The boys seem to take interest in the
work of this kind, as well as in tho
amusement features afforded by the
?irganlaatlon.
