It seems that there was some di-3 agreement as to whether or not Khodus had promised DeLorme that be would not build a store on it, De? Lorme saying that he had so promised and Khodus saying that he had not bought the lot until he had been granted the privilege of building the store or whatever else he wanted on It. The lie was passed and the two parties came to blows. After several blows were pissed the two men were separated and Khodus started to walk out of the store when DeLorme drew his pistol and shot at Khodus live times Three bullets took effect. one in the shoulder, one in the side and one in the hip. Turkey Creek Canal Appropriation Has String Tiotl to It?Lawn Seats Purchased. The County Board met Tuesday in all day session to discuss many mat? ters that pertained to the good of the e<?unty, the main proposition coming up was tiie Turkey Creek Ca? nal drainage pilan which was reopened at the request of City Council ami property owners who not with the Board and asked that this be done. It whs decided after tile matter had j been discussed for ionic time that the county was willing to grant an ap? propriation of $500 for the cleaning of Turkey Creek (.'anal provided that the earth thrown up in the cleaning out of the canal he made into banks { which be maintained BO as to pre- j \ent the caving in of earth from th ? sides of the canal. City Council, when the proposition was reopened, asked that the county raise thi appropriation for the work from $500 to $700. The County Board did not see the matter in the samo light as the City Council did and de? cided that $500 was as much as the county's share of the work was worth. I The hoard therefore put in a pro? vision not in its previous grant of the $500. This provision was that the parties who permanently maintained the canal also maintain the banks that were formed when the canal was cleaned out as it was only by keeping the banks in good shape that th-- ?anal could bo kept permanently open. The Union Savings Bank of Cincin? nati. Ohio, which had purchased the 20 >>ar Road Improvement bonds asked that further resolutions, giving a history of how the bonds came to be sold, be put in the minutes of th*- Board meeting. The County Board then decided to purchase 15 iron seats at a cost of $4.50 each to be placed on the ? ??urt house square. Hampton Lee was granted an ex Confederate pension.
