Little Business Transacted el Regular
Meeting Hold Tuesday bi the Coon
ty supervisor's Office?
There was very little business trans?
ected by the County Ilooard Tuesday
when it met in the office of the Coun- i
ty Supervisor and the Hoard held only
a short session,
After the minutes of the previous
meeting had been read and approved
the claim of Mr. J, F. Anderson was
brought up. Mr. Anderson had made
a claim of $50 for damages done to
his horse in falling through a bridge
over Black river. The matter had
been deferred for action from the last
meeting of the board so that they
would have time to look into it and
see if they were liable for the dam?
ages done to the horse. After due
consideration it was decided that
the board under the law had n<5 au?
thority to pay Mr. Anderson the dam?
ages he had asked for and his claim
was refused.
Mr. P. M. PitU and Mr. J. I. Brog
don reported on the matter of the
new roads petitions brought before
the board at its last meeting by
Mesrss. D. B. Brunson and others and
London and others. These gentle?
men recommended that the petition
for a road from the Radical road at
the Fullwood place to the Zoar road
be granted while action be postponed
for the present on the road from the
Boulevard to Britton's siding. It
was then moved and carried that the
county accept the road from the Full- i
wood place to a point on the Zpar
road at the five-mile post from Sum
ter on the A. C. L. railroad, provided
that the right of way be granted to
the county and the road hands re- j
move the stumps and other obstacles
from the road. The roads petition?
ed for were near together and it was
thought best to grant the one of them
which was necessary and it was
thought would do for both.
In The Police Court.
There was only one case heard in
the Recorder's court on Wednesday
and this ope case did not consume
much of the Recorder's time, while
it added "bucks" to the city treasury.
Lilly McCollum, colored, was
charged with stealing an umbrella,
whim sin she denied most enphati
oally?even if Tuesday was a rainy
day and umbrellas were in great de?
mand. Despite her protest to the
contrary she was found to be guilty
and sentenced to part with $10 of
her hard-earned money or to serve
10 days.
