Oct. 20.?Twice in one speech tonight Prof. E. H. Woodruff of Cornell university call? ed Theodore Koosefelt a liar, once an unmitigated liar. His attack, made at a political rally over which he presided, threw the house into an uproar. There were cat calls, hisses, cheers and clapping, with a steady shout behind them all for "Parker, Parker" for the next speaker, Former Judge Al? ton B. Parker. Judge Parker sprang to his feet and begged the audience to al? low Prof. Woodruff to be heard. The nolser part of the house com? plied and quiet was restored. Prof. Woodruff began by opening up the Bellamy Storer episode which Col. Boosevelt only recently declared was closed. He charged that when the colonel denied sending Bellamy Storer to the Vatican he was an "un? mitigated liar," and there were let? ters In his office, said the professor, to bear him out. The uproar over this attack had barely subsided when the professor took up his cudgels again. Roosevelt was twice a liar, he said, when he denied that the late E. H. Harrlman had subscribed to a corruption fund to be used for Roosevelt's election to the presidency. Judge Parker, who followed him, directed all his shafts at Mr. Stim son, candidate of the opposition. Sent to the Gang. The following prisoners found guilty at the recent term of court were sent to the chalngang Thurs? day to serve out their sentences. Alex Wilson? Perry Van Buren, Lewis Washington.
