Mrs. James Wilson Corbett Celebrate Fiftieth Anniversary of Their Wedding. i >ne ??i the pleasant social events of the week was the golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. James .Wilson Corbett, j at the home of their son-in-law, Mr. C. Q, Rowland on Broad street last' Monday evening. The house was beautifully decorat? ed for the occaslon( the color scheme of white and gold being carried out throughout the decorations The parlors ware decorated with ferns, palm and masses of roses, and the stair case was a hank of smllax, The dining table was a thing of beauty. In the c.-ntre was a shower bouquet of white American Beauty roses. Prom the chandelier wer.' strands of tulle extending to the bouquet. As the guests arrived they were usher, d Into the left hand parlor by Mrs. Qeo. L. Kicker and Miss Mar? ths Wilson who introduced them to the receiving party in the following order: Mr. and Mrs. James Nellson Corbett, J. Knox Corbett. Mrs. Wal t. r Minis, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. It is highly important that the eommiUee get busy. Sum ter's reputation is at stake. M l INCREASE OF $155,000. Board of Assessors lla\o About Com Dieted Their Work. The township board of assessors have about completed their canvas of the property in this township and have made a net increase of $155,000 in the tax value. They made an in? crease of $211,000 and a decrease of $.10,000. There were about 135 dif? ferent Individuals who had their re? turns too high. Their work was to put all on the same footing. This they have done as best they could. This net increase mi ans that there has been but about 11-3 per cent, in? crease in the property of the town? ship, or about 4 per cent of the tax value. This does not amount to a great deal, but it will help in the long , run. It also serves to make every I man carry bis share of the burden of j the city. Miss Ulrica Dtnklna is having her home on Liberty and Bumter streets repaired and painted, which will add a great deal to the appearance of the I place. Hon. A. K. Sanders Is prominently spoken of as a candidate for the sen? ate. He has not announced himself, but it is generally understood that he will make the race. Mr. M. H.
