Attorney General Secures Injunction To Prevent Payment of Claims. Columbia, Jan. 27.?In order to se? cure the county dispensary funds that were recently tied up .pending the settlement of State dispensary claims an injunction returnable February 7 has been secured by Attorney Gen? eral Lyon and associate counsel be? fore Judge Prince. In the order are named the various accounts that are ?ought to be tied up by injunction. The county boards are by the >rder enjoined from paying out any of the funds. It Is also understood that the injunction is necessary because al? though papers have boen filed Insti? tuting suits against firms for ths re? covery of over-Judgments by tome means, sll formalities necessary :o at? tachment have not been accomplish? ed. In support of this opinion It Is pointed out that the total ship? ments made from Charleson daring the fall months of 1909 showed a great Increase over those of the same time during 1908, and those shipped since January 1 of the present year to January 85 showed an lnoreaie of several thousand tons over thone of the same time'during 1909. Officials of the freight traffic department of both the Southern and Atlantic Coast line Railway In this city have con? firmed this statement, although not prepared to give out actual figures. McGovern, a wealthy contractor who has had many big city contracts and nine city officials and employes of McGovern, were Indicted by the grand jury to? day. The men are charged with con? spiracy to defraud the city of $264, . 000. The indictment on this charge came as a complete surprise, as it was believed the alleged frauds In a volved only about $45,000 in the so called shale rock scandals. ?Have you a weak throat?
