Boston, Dec. 20.-The negroes here are furious over President Roose? velt's message justifying the dis? charge of the negro troops. The Suffrage League met hastily as soon as the message had been made pub? lic and adopted resolutions to be ??ent to all negro organizations throughout the eountry denouncing the president as the instigator of race hatred and mob violence. In the res? olution they call him a tyrant, and say he is "not the friend he poses to be by the mere handing out to the colored race of a few paltry loaves and fishes, thereby showing himself to be a mere politician and not a gTeat statesman." . \_ If it be true, as claimed, that there are 1,200 Mormons in South Carolina that fact simply shows that the meth? od of opposition to propogation of that faith has not been effective. A religious belief, whether right or "wrong, is peculiar in that it thrives upon persecution and denunciation.- t Columbia Record. Washington, Dec. 19.-Some idea of they?xtent to which Latin-Am eri a will participate in the Jamestown ex? position was given in a special eora n unication on- the subject, received here today, from Nicholas Veloz Coiticoa, special commissioner for the exposition to Latin-America. It shows that ten countries, Argentine, Brazil, Bolivie. Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Mexico and Venezuela, have accepted the invitation to be represented and that six other countries, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and Salvador, are considering the rr arter, and that three, Colombia, ?Paraguay and Urugua, have not as yet ans wv red. Cuba alone has ' de? clined to participate. Tho dominican government has appropriated $10,000 for the con? struction of a suitable building for its exhibit. Besides the Puerto Rican exhibit in the government building a proposition is under consideration for the erection of a pavilion in the exposition grounds In which Puerto Rican coffee will be served. It practically has been de? cided that Panama's exhibit will be . a miniature canal 100 feet long and 50 feet wide with all topographical and similar locks and other accesso? ries. Argentine will send a fleet of war? ships, two cruisers of the first class and one of the second "class.
