The Watchman and Southron now has the com? bined circulation and influence of both of the old papers, and is manifestly the best Advertising medium in Sumter. i At a recent meeting of the board of directors and stockholders of the farmers* Bank and Trust Company, was decided by an almost unani &*?Cts vote to increase the capital fci&Sk from $60,000 to $120,000. There ^fas a vote of 580 out of a possible 506 cast in favor of the increase. The additional stock will be p~o rated ursLOC.g- the present stockholders pro ?x>rtioaately to the number *of shares 'of stock already held. In the event of ?ny of the present stockholders fail SB^ to avail themselves of this option, the stock thus undisposed of will be j Spaced on the market at a par value ^>t i 100 each. The business done by this bank during the short period of its career has been little short of phe? nomenal, and the increase in the cap? ital stock was necessitated by the rge volume of business that the ink is now transacting. * * ?
