Toere were twa email fires Wedoesday, one in the morning and one just after dark. The morning fire was at tbe Baptist Church, the roof of wbicb caught from a cracked stove flue. The old building is being replas tered sioce being moved and a fire was made in a stove to dry tbe plastering. The floe waa probably cracked during the removal of tbe building and a spark escaping ignited tbe roof from tbe inside. Tbe fire was extio* gnisbed without difficulty and little damage was doBe. The fire at nigbt was at George Elliott's boose on Gallagher Row, aod was caused by the explosion of a lamp. Elliott's wife was burned, bot not seriously, aod bot little damage was doe?. Tbe accident was ci a sed by a broken rail, it is tbooght. The engine patted over safely and tbe passenger coach, which was j attached to tbs rear end of the train escaped. The passengers were shaken op and a few of them bruised, but Done were injured to any exteot.
