ROBERT W DUR ANT. Mr R. W. Durant, one of Sumter's oldest aod best koowo citizens, died last Thursday at 2.30 o'clock after a long illness. In the deatb of Mr Robert W. Durabt, Sumter hr.s loet a citizen of whom any com? munity might well be proud. He was born near Lynebburg, end spent tbe 73 years of hit life io bis native county. There was no man more generally known or more highly respected Every impulse of bis heart was good. Uis genial disposition and Bterling manliness won for him a host of friends.
