figure* show 221 oases, to whioh must

?making a total of 227. All six of
the manslaughter oases resulted io
oonvictioo There were 97 oonvictions
for murder and 83 acquittals, the others
beiog disposed of by "no biilt>" aod
dismissal of the eases. A search of
tbo records as to tbe disposition of tho
osses shows only 8 death penalties aud

proper to state that tbs report from the
