Beit Ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City ot Sumter, in Council Assembled and by authority of the same, SECTION I.-That the License Year of the City of Sumter shall commenc? on the 1st day of June of each year and end on the 31st day of May nest ensuing, and that the following An? nual Licenses and Special Taxes shall be levied and collected for the use of said city of Sumter for the present Li? cense Year ending May 3ist.- MW. SEC. II.-That, every person, firm, or corporation, doing business in City ol* Sumter and required by terms of this Ordinance to obtain a License to en? gage in any business for which a Li? cense is required, shall make applica? tion to the Clerk and Treasurer, first giving his, her or their name and style, the nature of the business for which a License is required by this ordinance, and the place where such business is to be carried on, all of which shall be given under oath. SEC III.-Thai if any person or per? sons, firm or corporal ion', exercise* or carry on, any business for which a Li? cense is required by this Ordinance, without tirst procuring su?*h License as is in that behalf required,- he, sie or they besides h. ing liable for the rayment for the License, shall upon con viction thereof be subject to a fine no* exceeding Fifty Dollars, or imprisonment in the City Prison, not exceeding thirty days. SEC. IV.-Thai in every License to be taken out under or by authority of this Ordinance, shall be set forth the pur? pose or business for which such License is granted, the name and place of business of the person or per? sons, firm or corporation, procuring the sarine, and the time for which rt is granted, and the Clerk and Treasurer siia.ll provide a form of License to be issued upon which shall be written at the time the License is granted,- the name of the party obtaining the same, the length ot time for whn h thc License is issued and the amount charged aud received therefor, and the patty to whom such License is granted shall keep the same posted in some conspirions ??lace where such business is carried on ami any wilful evasion ot* the requirements of this Section shall upon conviction thereof be punishable by a tine not exceeding Fifty D'-liars, or imprisonment in the City Prison not exceeding Thirty days.
