In January the company sends a man out among the farmers and con- ? tracts for the growth of the supplies, j thus insuring certainty of production. The company furnishes ali the seed. A company can make its own cans at less than two cents each, ami one bushel of tomatoes will make twenty three-pound cans. The cost of ?abor, [ labies and boxing in canning is very i small oi? one can, and tomatoes are wholesaling at ?1 26 per dozen, a price unusually high t n occonnt of the scarcity of the present season's crops But at $1 per dozen, the usual price, there is a largor profit in J corn than in tomatoes.-L>jnc?'thurfj j Advance.
