Aiken county, has furnished the State
Department of Agriculture a report, on
an experiment he b*s made this year
on one acre of cotton. It shows what
may be accomplished with a proper
systom of fertilization asa cultivation.
The iand on which the crop was made
wasigood pine laud, with clay subsoil.
It was in oats last year, but has teen
moderately weii fertilized for several
years. . The land was broken curly in
March, with a turn plough, running
sir br seven inches deep. In bedding a
snrinch shovel plow was used, followed
in the same farrow with a long buil
toD?ue, breaking to the depth of ten cr

A good stand was obtained. Chopped

was done with a Cultivator, subsequent
