TO ?TTR SUBSCRIBERS.
We desire to call attention to the printed
addresses and dates on our papers. We shall
be pleased to correct any errors that have oc?
curred. Each subscrioef s account is append?
ed to his address.
Some of our subscribers owe for their sub?
scription to both the Watchman and the South?
ron. In such cases we have put the amount
due by them to Aug. 2., 81. For instance :
John Dob, 1.70 aug; 2, 81,
means that John Doe owes one dollar and
seventy ceuts up to Aug, 2, 1881. This in?
cludes his indebtedness to both papers. In
other cases, where but one paper was sub?
scribed to, we have simply put the date of
that subscription, indicating that the person
owes from that date or has paid up to that
date. _
Crowded Out.
A communication from our correspondent,
"Justice," was crowded ont of this issue, on
account of the lateness of its appearance^ We
will give it to our readers nest week.

i enough of them to have realized $2,000 at that
j price. This mau just before the war closed
! sold a large lot of cotton *nd invested every
j cfr.t of the proceeds in negroes and Confede
irate securities, owning at thc downfall of the
j Confederate Government 150 negroes and
I $400,000 worth of Confederate bonds. The
man is unreconstructed, as is shown by his
letter of refusal, which is as follows:

I Godey's Lady's Book for November
j Opens with a beautiful Steel Plate engraving,
j "Recalled to Life," a richly colored double
page Fashion Illustration, with numerous
engravings of various designs of the Latest
Fashions. The Diagram Pattern is a novelty
in the fact that it is a Lady's Bodice without
shoulder seams. The novelette is a thrilling
[ story of land and sea, by Thomas S* Collier,
? entitled "Bevond." There are numerous
j shorter stories by good writers, Aunt Ruth's
fnnny sayings, and indeed the general get-up
of the magazine is worthy of ail praise. One
thing to be said of this old favorite is, that
there is never any vulgarity or immorality in
its pages, and, therefore, it is worthy of a
place in any refined home. Any of our readers
who do not take the Lady's Book can be
supplied, promptly, by leaving their orders
at this office. We will furnish our own pa?
per and the Lady's Book for the low price of
i $3.75 per annum. As the nest issue will
j close the current year, now is a good time to
! send in your subscription. The publication
j office is 1006 Chestnut Street, Philadelpia, Pa.
