stated that he had stabbed
his nephew, Colon McCiam, in the
stomach with a knife. The man was
locked up. Deputy Laurie Bu eh
made an investigation of .the affa:
and telephoned the sheriff from Lake
City to hold McCiam as the stabbed
man was not expected to live.
John McCiam stated that he had
stabbed his nephew, and that the difficulty
was the resuit of business ,
dealings between the two. He said (
he had knocked the young man down ,
who, in turn, knocked hint down with i
a club, and that when ho got up he
stabbed him. The knife used is a ]
long-bladed wicked looking weap< v
and was covered with blood whe
turned over to the Florence sherilf.
Colon McCiam died early Friday
morning and it is probable that John
morning and John McCiam is held in J
jaii on a charge of murder.

The Pee Dee Fair.
Florence, Oct. 11.?The Blue Kibbon
athletic c\ent of the Pee Dee
section this season will be the football
same between the Furman University

Dee fair October llnh. The game
will be called at -i o'clock in the afternoon.

who want to see :t a chance to come
and return home in the afternoon.
Both teams are leading factors in
the state championship race for football
honors and all who like foot-ball
will see a real game by two of the
best teams in the state.
This is the first college game of
foot-hill played in this section in
years and if the people patronize it,
the game will be an annual event.
There is not a fan in the state who
has not heard of the great foot-ball
machine Billy Laval has at Furman

this year, and tne same can ue sum
of the Citadel Hull-Dogs, the stars of
these teams will bo in action, at the
fee Dee fair on the 19th. Reseive
seats are now on sale at $1.50 and the
number is limited.

The lowest temperature of the season

The highest temperature for
