We are more im pressed with the poisoning theory rel ative to the weevil than ever, it seem; to be easily done, and if persevere* in, some cotton will be made, but, t< accomplish anything under weevi conditions one has to work thoroughly and persistently. The old "happy-go lucky" way of making cotton is pass ed and we hope a more intelligen mode of farming has begun. NOTICE TO COLORED TEACHERS Colored Teachers of Williamsburg County: The State Accredited Sunune School for colored teachers of thi; county will be taught this year a Cooper's Graded School, 12 mile North-east of Kingstree and 5 mile; East of Cades, S. C. You have doubtless read the arti cle published in The County Recon pertaining to the compulsory attend ance of summer schools in order t< obtain a renewal of certificates. W< therefore advise a full attendance. This summer school is for the bene fit of teachers holding 1st and 2nc grade state certificates that will ex pire June 30, 1922, or June 30, 1923 and for those who must take the ex animations October, 1922, or May 1923. A record of attendance and cred its will be filed with the County Su perintendent of Education, and he luu said that in case of having to hir< emergency teachers with permits, h< trill be guided largely by the summei school record. Prof. M. C. Cooper, principal of th< Cooper's Graded School, has charg< )f the arrangement for entertainment He says that they are prepared t< toard 75 teachers in easy reach o; the campus and at a very moderat< price.
