Plans for the sale specialized products through an o ^ " ganization to be known as the Soul Carolina Home Producers' Associate were made in April 1921. * The purpose of this association ^ to convert the surplus yield of tl farm into money by placing on tl K .' market a standard product, and 1 if* this means to encourage products *> and conservation. The State Short Course for Home Demonstration club members of South Carolina will b^ held at Winthrop College June 9 to 15 inclusive. About 400 women and girls from every part 5f the state ire expecttd to attend. Five women and five girls are sent [>om each county, these delegates being selected for excellence in home Jemonstration work and their ability usJeaders. In addition to the regular delegates, the County Farm Women's councils will send special representatives. An interesting and instructive program has been arranged by the state feme demonstration agent and her assistants. Prominent demonstrators and lecturers from all parts of the LOuntry will be on the piogram. Among the speakers are: Dr. C. B. Smith, Mr. O. B. Martin and Miss Florence Ward from the United States Department of Agriculture, Washington, D. C. Dr. Ruby Green Smith, associate state home demonstration leader, New York state, Dr. Leon C. Palmer, general superintendent, South Carolina Suncay School Association: Mrs. Chauncey B. McDonald, secretary, South Carolina Tuberculosis Association; and Dr L. A. Riser, of the State Board, of. Health. Demonstrations along mar.y lines of home making will be given by the specialists and the county home demonstration agents. Recreation will be an important feature of tae program, a rrainea director will hare charge of the work in the gymnasium, including drills, games, folk dancing and swimming. Mr. R. E. Mell of the Rock Hill Y. M. C. A. will conduct the community singing each evening In .addition to the entertainments mentioned above, there will be moving pictures, parties and "stunts." A feature of especial interest to the girls will be the course ir? health education, conducted by Miss Harriett Wedgwood of the United States Bureau of Education. Here the girls will be taught the "Rules of the Health Game" and "Right Living." Indications are that this short course will be the best ever held. President D. B.
