Mrs. Martha Harelson had a right i serious fall, when she stepped off the porch one night last week. We are < glad that she is now improving. Miss Halene Clarke of the Union High school faculty will spend some time in Kingstree before going to her ( home in Elberton, Ga. < MVc RnV? Miss Martha McFadden, a member of the Union school faculty is spend- t ing the holidays at her home near i Chester. * Prof. D. H. Dantzler expects to t leave in a few days to spend the hoi- < idays at his home at Parler. The 1920-1921 sfessiOn of the Union J High school came to a successful close at the school auditorium last Tuesday night. This has been an unusually good year for the school. Prof. DantzK' ler and his corps of teachers have S been untiring in their efforts to make this the best year ever. The class exercises on that night did credit to the faculty and each member of the class, v Those receiving diplomas were Misses b Gertude Haddock and May Williams; c Messrs. Frank Williams, John LeGette J and Rufus Cribb. The address was made by the Hon. Charlton DuRant c of Manning. Mr. J. Walter Doar of 1, ~ r> n /~?i Georgetown ana mr. rs. d. viuumwi, i chairman of the board of trustees also s spoke. The diplomas and prizes were s delivered by Prof. D. H. Dantzler. The i musical selections for the evening S were rendered by Mrs. Cary Rollins i and Miss Annie Wilson. On Monday night the pupils of the grammar grades assisted by a few High school students gave the Operetta, Snow White and The Seven ( Dwarfs. The children did their parts well and showed excellent training. The baccalaureate sermon was preached on Sunday night in the t school auditorium by Dr. R. E. Stackhouse of Columbia. Dr. Sttackhouse preached Sunday morning in the * Union Methodist church on "Christian j Education." Both sermons were ex- ( cellent and were well worth hearing.
