He Kingstree Shrine Club is planning
for a Community Christmas
tree this year, similar to the one '
given by the Club last Christmas.

night for Washington to resume his
duties as a member of the national
Congress which convened Monday at

Mrs. Samuel B. McUill underwent
an operation at the McLeod Infirmiary,
Florence, Tuesday. She stood
the operation nicely and is getting

There will be a meeting of the
Masonic lodge at 8 o'clock this evening.
At this meeting officers for tinensuing
year will be elcted and a full
attendance of members is urged.
Cadet Walter Scott who was obliged
to leav e Clemson on account of an '
attack of appendicitis underwent an
operation at the Florence infirmary
last Thursday and is reported as fretting

The Rev. Dr. J. W. Daniels who has
been pastor of the Methodist church
here the past year, left with his fam
ily last night for his new charge in
Sumter, to which he was recently appointed
by the Methodist Conference.
The pulpit of the Methodist church
will be occupied Sunday at the usual
, hour for services by the new Presiding
Elder, Rev. Mr. Derrick.

The Rev. W. A. Massabrau and his I
family will leave Kingstree today for
Johnsonville, where they will make
their home during Mr. Massabrau's
pastorate of the Johnsonville Methodist
church. For the past year the
Rev. Massabeau has been Presiding
Elder of the Kingstree district, and
with his most estimable family, has
occupied the district parsonage here.
He is a charming Christian gentleman
whose host of friends here and
throughout the district will regret
that the condition of his health has become
such that he was obliged to give
up his work as presiding elder. It is

remain a resident of Williamsburg for
the next year at least.

Mission Services at St. Alban's j
^ The Rev. Bentham Walker, rector
of the Episcopal church at Sumter,
opened a series of mission services at
St. Alban's chapel here Tuesday night.
^ ^ The last of these sen-ices will be held
\ at 7:30 o'clock this evening. Mr.
Walker is an able speaker and an
earnest exponent of gospel truth. His
sen-ices here have been much enjoyed
by those in attendance. It is Mr
Walker's first visit to Kingstree and
he expresses himself as highly pleased
with our town and its citizens. '

Nelson-Wilson
Mr. Henry nelson and Miss Margaret
Ruth Wilson were married here
yesterday evening at the home of Mrs.
M. A. Wilson, cousin of the bride.
The cermony was performed by the
Rev. John W. Davis. Mr. and Mrs.
Nelson are from the Indiantown community
wtyere thye will make their
home upon their return. They left
immediately after the ceremony last
night for the South.

Clemson College News.
Clemson College, Dec. 7?The Tigers
won the cross-country meet at
Clinton Thanksgiveng Day. Clemson J
was represented by Summers, Ellison,
Young and Kinard. In the five mile
run Ellison came second, Summers
fifth, Young sixth and Kinard seventh.
A Mr. Fred B. Smith, a man of
world-wide fame is to speak at Clemson,
Dec. 11. 12, 13 and 14.
Great interest is being taken in
company football. E^ry company
has a team and the games hav
brought out many stars.
Industrial movies are shown in
the college chapel about twice a week.
Christmas dinner is to be served
in the Mess Hall, Sunday Dec. 12th.
