Mrs. J. H. Thompson, who has been
under surgical treatment at the Kelley
sanatorium for the past several
weeks, is reported doing as well as

Mr. Jas. A. McKnight left Monday
night for Walterboro, where he was
married Wednesday, at 11 A. M., to
Miss Juanita Donnelly of that place.
' He was accompanied by his sister.
Miss Mary Sue McKnight, and Mr.
Roy Baker.

Mr. Edward McDowell, who for
some months past has been with
Weinberg's Grocery, left this week
for Greenville, where he will resume
his duties as telegraph editor for the
News of that place. Mr. McDowell
held this position since his graduation
from college until poor health
1 caused him to give it up for a time.

On last Sunday afternoon, at 2 ,
o'clock. Miss Beatrice Mooena Mims
and Mr. Joseph Vander Jeffords were
united in marriage at the home of the
bride's mother, Mrs. Mary D. Mims, J
about three miles west of Kingstree, i
the Rev. E. A. McDowell officiating.
The bride has made her home in
Kingstree for several years past,
where she, first in attending school
and later in several responsible positions
she sas held, made many friends,
Mr. Jeffords come here about a year
ago from Lake City, and is connected
with the Studcbaker Sales Co., of this
place, where ' he has made many
friends for himself.
Mr. and Mr.-. Jeffords have the best "
wishes of their many friends for a 1
long, happy and prosperous life.
