Is she a martyr and a victim of
rough-stuff circumstances or is she
in an environment that makes for Arcadian
joy makes for the simplicity
of living, even though it be a strenuous
sort of simplicity which products
the strength and purification of character
that are the basis of a strong
and enduring civilization ? A proverb
comes to mind, "Nothing is either

Life on the farm is an Arcadian
joy if only the woman on the farm is
rightly attuned to it. It is weary,
dreary isolation if she hates?it is
a hard-luek game if her thought is
constantly swinging to the white

the nearby town or the more variegated
city life that is further away.
Some women on the farms are dissatisfied?many
women in the cities
are dissatisfied. Life in the city or
the country is very much what we
make it or what the human elements
that are involved make it. There is
no ideal life that is not based upon
the inner life of the individual. City
or country, the simple things of life
are the things that really matter.
