perform a great work as artificial
propagators and distributor of food
and game fish.
In the Great Lakes region ah
the hatcheries distributed last year
billions of lake trout, whitcfish, cisco
and wall-eyed pike "fry", and

adult fish was upward of 1,500,000.000.
And this year the work is being
carried on with increased energ\.
The total distribution last year of
nearly 6,000,000,000 fish and fertilized
fish eggs, an increase of about 50 per

hatchery, and in spite of a great
shortage of qualified f;the
rising cost of materials and the
difficulties and greatly increased cost
of transportation.
Seventy main and auxiliary federal
hatcheries are now in operation in
thirty-three states nd Alaska
distribution is extended to every state.
The state hatcheries perform a service
equally important to that of the
federal plants. But conseivation and
increase of the food and game f:
supply depends largely upon tne nsnermen,
who in growing numbers show

A. M., and close at 4 o'clock P. M.
The managers at each voting precinct
will be furnished two ballot boxes: one
for State officers and U. S. Senator,
itud one for County officers and Congiv-sman.
The managers before opening
the polls shall take and sign the
oath required in section 81 of the rules
adopted by the State Convention made
in 1920. The managers at each box
shall require every voter to take the
oath required by section 32 of said
rides. After the polls have closed, the
managers shall proceed publicly to
count the votes. After tabulating the
result the managers shall certify the
same and forward the ballot boxes
containing the ballots, poll list, and all
other papers relating to said election,
bv one of their number within thirtysix
(36) hours after the close of the
polls.
