Democrats Will Join With Members
of Senator's Party in Vote
For Him

United States Senator Warren G.
Harding, the Republican presidential
candidate, spoke to the citizens of
Marion, Ohio, and other citizens today
gathered about his home to welcome
his return.
The celebration began early in the
day and lasted until tonight, when,
in the presence of a crowd of home
folk that crowded the spacious lawn
of the Harding residence and overflowed
to the opposite side of the 1
street, Senator Harding was officially '
welcomed by Dr. Crissmger, president 1
of the Marion Civic Association. The
Senator replied in a brief speech, in
which he opposed one-man govern- :
ment and urged restoration of normal |
conditions as a steadying force for j
civilization, which, he said, "has l>een
severed by the supreme upheaval of
all the world." 1

He spoke intimately with his fellow
townsmen of their joint efforts to
make Marion a greater and better
city, their tributes paid him on other 1
occasions when he had been a victor 1
in political battles and especi^ly the
tribute of endorsement shown him by '
the county at the April primaries.
He said if he had to choose between
the tribute paid by his home county
in the primary and that extended by
the Chicago convention, he would
choose the former, "because your
knowing me made it the finest trib- <
ute to which one may aspire."

Harding's election, Mr. Crissingsr

But Senator Harding did not receive
all the tribute. He was compelled to
share it about fifty-fifty with Mrs.
Harding in the welcoming ceremonies.
How she had shared in the trials and
triumphs of her husband were related
by Mr. Crissirger who asserted that
her "tactful ways will make her a favorite
as the first lady of the land."

voter, in order to vote in the
1920 primaries, must in person write
(or in case he is unable to write his
name, have written for him in the

full name, age, occupation and address
in the new enrollment book furnished
his club; that a. new enrollment book
is in the hands of the enrollment committee
for each club in Williamsburg
Couty and open and ready for the enrollment
of voters; that said enrollment
books will remain open and in
the hands of said enrollment committees
until the last Tuesday in July,
