I several fingers on both hands blown
| off as a result of the explosion of a
j dynamite cap which he had been carrying
around in his pocket and hat

Tinsley is about sixteen years old
: and is the son of Dolphus Tinsley. He
was in a field when, evidently thinking
of the cap he had in his pocket
and while working with it, it exploded.

The oo-operative bull association
has been carefully planned to enable
a number of small dairymen and farmers
who individually could not af-!
I ford food bulls, to combine their re- ,
r J sources and buy a few really good
: dairy aires. For example, suppoee
four farmers each have $100 to invest
1J In a hall. They are so situated that
they can all use the same bull. The
' association makes it possible for them
to pool their resources and buy one i
! $400 bull, presumably four times as
good as any one of the four $100 ani.'

It Is gratifying to see that this theory
Is working out In practice so well that
it applies not only to the dairymen
with $100 available for investment In
f a bull but equally well to the one
i with only $10. or on the other hand
to the one with $500.

figures Indicate that bulls owned by

age age of about three years. At this
age It is impossible to have any production
records of lhe offspring,
which is the only real teat of a sire's
value. Because of this short life of
the bull it happens over and over
again that dairy farmers have diecovered,
after the daughters had fin
tehed a record, the exceptional prepotent
qualities of their sire; and
t then, on looking around for that sire. \
hsrro made aiother discovery, a sad
one. that the search was futile, for
the sire had gone to the butcher.
Beneficial to Family Cow Owners. i
The average herd of all the members
of these associations consists of
six come. Inasmuch as there are
many herds with ten or a docen cows,
it fellows that there must be a great
1 number of herds with less than six
