Sharing a tendency toward church
concentration which is much wider
than even the great Interchurch
movement, both the Presbyterian
and Methodist bodies seem at last on
the point of uniting half a dozen separate
organizations in strong Nation-!
wide churches.
Many remaining church divisions
are no longer logical. North and
South surely need not remain sundered.
The Dutch Reformed Church
is essentially Presbyterian, and its
services are not now conducted, as
formerly, in Dutch. In some cases,
guage still forms a bar, but witn tne |
majority of sects that is not the case.1 ?
Presbyterian ism is far stronger than
the North than in the South. Union j

strong. The Methodist, denominations j
include nearly 6,000,000 white and I

tists have 3,000,000 colored mem j

men, the Baptist is this the leading
Southern denomination.
Church consolidations, if general,
would greatly alter the list of Ameri- 1

Sunday Excursion Fares.
The above announcement will be
gratifying to many who annually
take advantage many times during the
summer of the convenient schedules
and low* excursion fares offered by
the Atlantic Cdast Line to visit the
seashore on Sundays.
This season these excursions begin
on Sunday, June 6th, and continue
every Sunday until September 5th,
inclusive. The excursion fare from
Kingstree will be $1.65 to Charleston
I and return, and corresponding excur[I
sion fares will be made from % large
number of other points.
The trains will run as follows:
wm Leave Kingstree 8:22 a. m. and 10:47
a. m. and arrive at Charleston 10:35
a. m. and 1:05 p. m., respectively. Returning
they will leave Charleston
8:20 p. m. and 3:50 p. m., arriving at
Kingstree i0:39 p. m. and 5:58 p. m.,
