United States In the world war, the
American Red Cross perceived the
alne of mobilizing the school children
of the country and the Junior Red
Cross was organized. Before the wai
ended nine million children were em
rolled and helped In the war fun^
and membership campaigns, in chap*

manufacturing furniture for the refugees
whose homes and household
goods were destroyed. '
