There are many materials or mix- j
tures used to keep flies off cattle.
Some of these are commercial pro.
ducts generally advertised and on .

formulas. These preparations vary I
greatly in their efficiency in keeping
(flies off cattle.
The questions of applying them
sufficiently often, and as to whether
the benefits justify the labor and cost:
are always to be considered. It must j
be remembered, however, that the!
. falling off in the milk flow in "fly
time," may generally be more correctly
attributed to hot weather and
declining pastures than to the ill ef
lects or flies. ,
