Victory Ix>an Meeting Here Li-st

Preliminary to the victory loan
drive, which will be inaugurated
throughout the country on the 21st
instant. Mr. E. C. Epps, who has
served so efficiently as county chairman
of the organization that put j
over the liberty bond drives, and
who has consented to act in a sirni<ar
capacity in the .'oming campaign
held a meeting at the court house
Saturday, at which a number of:
members of his old organization j
were present. Plans v. ?re laid out
and adopted for the final campaign.1
and Mr. Kp;>- is highly gratified1
over the fact that nearly all of the1
old liberty bond workers will assist
in the drive that is to be launched j
hove on Wednesday. April 23.
It is intended 10 make that day a
memorable one in Kingstree. Previ-!
ous to the meeting Saturday, a mass)
meeting was called to decide upon
some method of entertainment for'
the soldier boys of the county who I
have recently returned from camps I
and from overseas, but little if any
lecision was arrived at. But the
matter was taken in hand by the
victory loan organization and the
the bovs will be entertained here in
style on the opening day of the
Victory campaign. A number of
Kingstree boys, not to mention
those from various sections of Williamsburg
County, have recently returned
from overseas and been mustered
out of service. These boys are
hack home ready to take up the various
pursuits they laid down in answer
to the call of the government,
many of them volunteering for service
on the Mexican border. It is
thought a most fitting time to pay
nonor to these young men, in conlection
with the launching of the
victory loan campaign. It is hoped
hat every young man who entered
1-- fmrr* fVii? ronntv and

las returned home will be present
next Wednesday.
Chairman Epps is putting forth
?very effort to make the day a |
memorable one. Mayor Cilland has j
issued a proclamation concerning the I
>ccasion and declaring the day a
holiday. The committees will arrange
the details as to entertainment.
A great barbecue dinner will
>e served and notable speakers will
>e present. An effort is in progress

Price of Peace," to be shown here

Sunday at the Baptist Church, con-1
iucted by the Rev. Dr. A. W. La-1
nar, of Atlanta. Ga. A large congregation

;aid of Dr. Lamar that "his presence
s inspiring his voice is striking and
>enetrating, full of pathos and sweet
Southern accent. His delivery is un onventional
