weather of last week, several of the
patrons and friends were kept from j

school house on last Friday night.
But those present showed the interest
they felt by contributing freely,
the proceeds amounting to $55. This
money will be used for furniture
needed for another class room,made '

teacher to the teaching force. Lumber
is now being sawed to make an
addition of two rooms to the present'
school house, and the trustees hope
to have five teachers by next year.
The enrollment is large enough for
five teachers this year, but on ac- ,
count of lack of space there are only
four. This school has been making
rapid progress since it was started
nine years ago. We hope that it will
continue to progress, and that cot

modern brick building with all modern
equipments.
The youngest child of Mr Vance
Wheeler is very ill with pneumonia.
Mr J A Feagin, who has been sick
for the past two weeks, is able to be
out again.
Mr J G Pelt is at McLeed's Infirmary
in Florence for treatment, .
Free Tobacco Seed.
Mr George Bass, who will run the
Central warehouse here next season,
has sent to Kingstree for distribution
among tobacco planters a lot of
tobacco seed, whici may be had for
the asking at John M Brown's store.
