who enlisted in the navy last June,
is visiting his parents at Florence.
He is a first class seaman on the

left last Thursday via Lanes for Anderson,
where they will join Rev Mr
McChesney and make their home in
future. The Record joins the people

For several days Kingstree has
been under a coat of sleet, and a
number of persons have suffered

Up to the time of going to press

from Florence,but it is under'
stood that the people of both counties
living in the territory affected

ences voted against the proposition.
. The Rutledge county proposition
' has been before the people several
times and each time has been defeated.
In Lake City, where the sentiment
for the new county is strong,
. only a dozen votes were cast against
t the project, while more than three
I hundred favored it. No other pre
cincts in Florence have been heard
