the Sunday-school Promoter, there
are 28 Sunday-schools in this State .

Heinemann Presbyterian.

an imposing addition to that part of

Monday was the last day for payments
on the Christmas savings club
of the Bank of Williamsburg, and
the members will be paid off early
in December. There are about 400
members, and it will take thousands
of dollars to pay them. It is the
first Christmas ^savings fund ever
organized here.
A Japanese tea,under the auspices
of the Daughters of the Confedera- j
cy, will be given at the home of Mrs j
P G Gourdin next Tuesday afternoon j
at 4:30 o'clock. Beautiful Japanese |
articles will be cnsale. and Japanese
tea will be served to the guest*. The j
proceeds will be used by the Daughtersin
their Red Cross fund.

Miss Lizzie Fulton, a pupil nurse
of the Florence Infirmary, has had a
severe attack of nervous prostration,
and is now at home for a rest.
The hot supper at Bethel school
house Thursday night was a delightful
event socially and a great success
financially,about $130 being realized.
Mrs H 0 Britton, who has been
spending some time with her daughter,
Mrs Watson, at Little Rock, in
Dillon county, has returned home.
Mr Robert F Jenkins, formerly in
the employ of the Standard Oil Co
here, has been commissioned first
lieutenant and stationed at Chickamauga
Park.
Mr L T Thompson left Kingstree
Monday night for Colorado, where
he expects to spend six weeks. His
sister, Miss Cora Thompson, accompanied
him to Chicago.

The people of Cedar Swamp last
Friday night gave one of those famous
hot suppers for which they are
so noted. There was a very large
attendance, including about 30 from
Kingstree, and approximately $200
was realized for the benefit of the j

New Firm Organized.
The Kingstree Motor Sales Co is
the newest organization to assume
shape in Kingstree the past week.
The company is composed of Messrs
C J Thompson, C W Boswell, E F
Martin,W K Mcintosh and J G Hearsey,
and will engage in a general
automobile business. The new com- ,
pany has purchased the auto supply
business formerly conducted by Mr
L T Thompson,and this will t>e continued
on an enlarged scale, in addition
to the auto sales department.
It is the intention of the company to
open up a first-class garage in the
near future, occupying the Nexen
buildings on East Main street. Mr '
