Mr Lauriee Rhem was in Kings#tree
one day this week and informed
us that he had just shipped *
solid carload of sweet potatoes, 5$J
bushels, of the Cuban Yam variety,
to the Georgia Produce Co at Spartanburg
for 75c per bushel. These
potatoes. Mr Rhem said, were from
a nine acre patch planted after oata.
Five families have used from the
patch, plentifully, since the middle
of July, and he still has over f?00
bushels left for domestic use this
winter. Considering the oats made
on the nine acres and the potato
crop harvested, not to speak of the
hundred or more hojrs that he will
fatten off what is left in the field,
it has been a profitable piece of dirt.
And there are thousands of acres of
it in Williamsbnrgr county.
