Why Don't YOU?
Won't you read the date on the
label of this paper and see if your
subscription is due? If it is, won't
you kindly come in and pay up? We
have no cotton, corn, hog3 or other
product to sell at the prevailing
high prices. We have not increased
the price of the paper, yet we have
to pay the greatly increased prices
for everything we buy, whether for
use in the making of The Record or
for bodily nourishment, and if YOU
don't pay US, how can you hope to
receive the paper, abd how are we
to keep the wolf from the door?
Certainly we have been sorely tried

The Rev P S McChesney, who has

church here for the past six years,
preached his farewell sermon to the

family are held in the very highest
esteem here by all denominations
and expressions of regret over their
departure are heard on all sides.
As a token of the high esteem in
which this popular young pastor was
held by his congregation the male
members, presented him with a
handsome gold watch. The lady
members of the congregation presented
Mrs McChesney with a beautiful
silver set of table ware at a
farewell reception tendered her at

not leave for Anderson for about
ten days.

day. Monday no one needed fire
and could easily have dispensed with
heavy wearing apparel for some
thing lighter without any discomfort.
Tuesday a cold wave was predicted
and reached this community
during Tuesday night and covered
the earth with a white, killing frost.
Wednesday was fair and pleasant
but this morning another heavy
frost covered the ground. Higher
temperature is predicted for tonight
and tomorrow.
