The people are evermore buying
automobiles from the dealers at
Florence. One of them said he had
just gotten in a carload iand sold all
of them at the depot. He immediately
ordered 2S more cars.
Despite the war conditions, plans
are under way to make the forthcoming
State fair the greatest in its
history. The premium list has been
issued,showing that many thousands
of dollars will be awarded in prizes.
The fair will be held October 22-26.
The Association of Attorneys General
of the United States, Thomas
H Peeples president, will convene at
Saratoga Springs, N Y, September
1-3. Dr ELC Adams,fpresident of
the Audubon Society of South Carolina,
is down for an address upon
"Game Preservation."
W W Barr, Jr, secretary of the
Orangeburg Chamber of Commerce,
expects to take up and complete
within the next few days the raising
of the stock for the Orangeburg Cooperative
Marketing association.
This is a plan, suggested by W W
Long of Clemson College, to furnish
a market for all products of the
farm with the exception of cotton.
