Mr Jas D Munnerlyn is his temporary

Rev P A Muaray and family are
on an extended visit to relatives and
friends at Lamar. Hartsville and
Cheraw. We hope for them a pleasant
vacation.
Messrs G E Grier and B W McElveen
spent Sunday at Myrtle Beach.
Mr Flynt Rhem is very ill, we are
sorry to note.
Mrs James D Munnerlyn, with her
children, is visiting: her parents, Mr
and Mrs rercy i; >nowaen, in mt
Indiantown section.
Mr Henry J Williamson and children,
Messrs Furman. Needham and
Henry and Miss Addle, of Cades. Rr
1. spent Sundav at the home of Mr
and Mrs B W McEiveen,the latter of
whom is also a daughter of Mr Williamson.
Miss Addie so liked this section
of old Williamsburg that she
decided to spend at least a week in
our midst.
Mr Eari Cook, son of ex-Treasurer
J W Cook of Kingstree, has recently
been added to the clerical corps of
Messrs F Rhem & Sons.
We are pleased to note that Mr J
W Wallace.who has been confined to
his room for several days, is out
again,attending to his duties as foreman
of the extensive farming interests
of Messrs F Rhem & Sons here.
Mr C D Cook, Jr, has been indisposed
for several days.
The family of Mr and Mrs G M
Thomas is convalescing from a severe
attack of malaria.
Messrs H Foxworth and son,Johnnie,
and Tom Patrick of the Cades
vicinity passed through our "burg"
en route to and from Georgetown
last Friday.
Mr and Mrs F Rhem are spending
a pleasant vacation in the mounuons
of North Carolina.
Mrs J W Mole, Jr. and children
are visiting the former's mother,
Mrs F L Munnerlyn, on Route 1.
. Messrs Barnie L Williams and Eddie
W Munnerlyn have accepted
clerical positions with Messrs W C
Hemingway & Co, at Hemingway,
Mrs L B Johnson and little son,
Allen, and Mrs A Spencer Legette
and infant daughter have returned
from a pleasant outing at Pawlev's
Island.
The county chain-gang, camp 1,
under the supervision of Mr M F
Haselden.is now located in our midst
and is doing some efficient and much
needed road mending.
Messrs Miles S Bethune, county
supervisor, and H H King,Post-master
of Georgetown were here for a
short while on business Friday af
ternoon.
Miss Margaret Keels, the efficient
assistant book keeper and stenographer
for F Rhera & Sons.is spending
a few weeks vacation with relatives
at Harvin, Alcolu, Sumter and other
places. We were recently informed
that she was very ill at her home at
Harvin, and her many friends here
wish her a speedy recovery and a
pleasant vacation.
Trousers For Women.
The edict has gone forth that women
are to wear trousers this winter.
The decree was signed, sealed and
solemnized when the garment manufacturers
opened their semi-annual
exhibit at Chicago. August 10, and
showed miladi in what heretofore
had been considered man's personal
paraphernalia and neither limb attire.
No imitation trousers are these to
be sported by the fail sex but the
real thing with pockets and perhaps
even suspender buttons. And to
make sure that they will be noticed
they will have a flashy gold braid
down the seams. The latter for eveninor

women's trousers manufacturers
turned back a few pages in the style
books out of the past to the patterns
for basques which femininity thought
the thing back in 1887. For the tight
basques of that bygone time are
eoming into their own.
Light colors will predominate during
the next six months and the
sport skirts that are being shown
would make a barber's pole turn
green with envy.
Coats adorned with furs bespattered
on them with a camiflourage
effect are just the thing. Muskrat,
skunk, rabbit, Hudson seal and real
ermine will be worn in accordance
with miladi's strength and checkbook.
