The Tobacco Association of the United States will hold its 15th annual meeting at that time, and on account of a number of things that confront the tobacco trade,a large attendance J is expected. In fact, officers of the i Association assure that tobacco men will be there from all parts of the United Statesrnd perhapssome from i across the waters. The Tobacco Association of the United States is one of the most important business or- j ganizations in this country, and num- j bers among its members prominent men in the trade in all parts of the United States as well as many bankers, transportation men, manufactur-; ers of tobacco supplies and machinery.1 Summer School Now in Session. . The fourth annual session of the i State Summer School at the SC Uni ?? 11: ~L 1 k? vcrsuj i<>r in^u ocuoui irauici: uigan June 20 and will continue until July 19 inclusive. The State Summer School was established to meet the needs of a single specific class of teachers. The aim is to give training in the subject matter that high school teachers have to teach,to add to the teacher's schol- j arship, to make some study of the high school pupil and learn the art of effective presentation of each sub-' ject. Some high school teachers fail because they are not masters of their subjects; others fail because they do not understand the underlying princi-: pies of teaching; still others fail be-! cause they know little or nothing of boys and girls of the high school age. At the summer school a teacher j acquires increased scholarship and j new inspiration. The summer school j at the University of South Carolina j has proved exceedingly profitable to ( high school teachers. Every Tuesday and Friday afternoon during the session conferences of teachers and instructors are manifold.and are greatly appreciated. Do your "bit"?help the Red Cross!
