wppk it was reDorted to us that a
little boy with a pair of shears lured
a certain pretty little girl into a secluded
nook and relieved her of her
golden tresses. It is not necessary
to attempt to describe the fond mother's
chagrin when she found what
had happened to her little daughter.
Next day the boy,in order to get revenge
on the world, threw the family's

Death of Mrs. Mills.
Mrs Mills, wife of Mr S W Mills,
died suddenly at the home of her
daughter,Mrs Julia McCutchen.about
six miles east of town, about 10:30
o'clock Tuesday night, death being
due to heart disease. Mrs Mills was
attending the wedding of Miss Annie
McCutchen to Mr H Olin Welch,
and it is surmised that the end
came as a result of the excitement
incident to the marriage. The deceased
was about 60 years of age
and was one of the most highly esteemed
ladies in the county. She is
survived by her husband and five
children, Mr R D Mills, bookkeeper
in the Bank of Kingstree; Mrs J N

Julia McCutchen and Mrs L P Epps,
both of whom live near town, and
an unmarried daughter. Her son
had just returned to Kingstree
when he was summoned by phone
message to return. Funeral services
took place yesterday afternoon, and
interment was made in Williamsburg
cemetery. Rev G T Harmon
